![]() Taxis are constantly needed, don’t keep them in a parking lot 2 miles from airport trickling in, like slow drops. Besides that, think of the extra burden on the environment and the air we breathe, circling around like that for no reason whatsoever. It’s a disgrace and mismanagement of available taxis, time, airport disruption due to interminable lines and disgruntled passengers and extra fuel since the driver needs to travel fighting traffic to reach the terminal AGAIN. With all the taxi cabs waiting in the parking lot causing the passengers to wait for hours in the airport instead of a quick turn over like in any other civilized country. I would like to know the genius who created this mess so I could tell him/her what a dumb way to manage the taxi/passenger situation. Causing hundreds of stranded travelers waiting for hours inside the airport. There are hundreds of taxi cabs waiting in the lot. After a renovation it seems someone should have thought to provide food service for those arriving too early to check in. They make this long circle around the airport. Very few seats Those that we’re provided were backless benches. The taxi cabs are not allowed to pick up passengers at the airport curb but are obliged to wait in a parking lot two miles from the airport and then fight traffic to get to curb and pick up a traveler. People with children or pets were literally in deep trouble. The line inside the airport extended way outside the rope lines. When I finally went outside to the next queue the waiting travelers inside had at least a 2 hour wait. My wait for a trickling taxi was one hour. People in wheelchairs were set aside and automatically skipped the line. Some people just skipped the line and went directly outside where they queued with the passengers who had waited for one hour while the other stranded people were inside still waiting. “The new Terminal B is a shining example of a 21st Century airport facility focused on passenger experience and what can be accomplished when we all work together.✅ Trip Verified | Upon landing and looking for a taxi I found this Appallingly inefficient scenario: There were ropes inside the airport lobby where people waited for taxis. The remaining portion of the old – and much maligned – Central Terminal Building has now been removed from service and will be demolished by this spring. The transformed terminal offers 1.35 million square feet of new facilities, including 35 gates, a 3,00-car parking garage, and covered pickup areas for taxis and ride-sharing vehicles, as well as “best-in-class retail, vast dining experiences, stunning art and amenities that provide customers with a world-class 21st century travel experience”. New York’s LaGuardia unveils new departures and arrivals hall at Terminal B The opening of the second skybridge – along with the unveiling of the terminal’s new departures and arrivals hall last summer, and a second concourse in December 2021 – means that all passengers arriving and departing at the terminal will experience newly built facilities, with all temporary walkways taken out of service. LaGuardia said that the skybridges have “enabled more than two additional miles of taxiway space to be built, reducing delays for arrivals and departures and will help ease customers’ ability to travel seamlessly to their gates”. The unveiling of a new western Skybridge means that the airport is now the first in the world to feature dual pedestrian skybridges, which both measure 482 feet long and rise 60 feet from the ground.
